In the event that clothes, tableclothes or even carpets are stained with red wine, wash the area with soda or carbonated water as soon as possible. If you don’t have baking soda or baking soda handy, you can scrub the stain with a toothpaste that contains baking soda.

You can also try pouring white wine on the stain. Gently rub the stain to remove excess moisture. If the stain is large or has dried, soak the piece of fabric in white wine or soda water.

After doing all or one of the above steps, put your garment in the washing machine at normal temperature. Caution! heat can set the stain so don’t wash with very hot water.
